Cipriano Sánchez García, LC, PhD
F. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C. is of Spanish and Mexican nationalities, as he was born in Talavera de la Reina, Spain in 1958. He is member of the Legion of Christ since 1975 and was ordained priest in Rome in 1988.
He studied Philosophy with a specialty in Philosophical Anthropology at Gregorian University in Rome, Italy; he later earned his Master’s in Theology at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, also in Rome; and his PhD in Philosophy at Universidad Anáhuac México Sur with the thesis: “La participación según Karol Wojtyla, antropología para la comunidad en la sociedad posmoderna” [Participation according to Karol Wojtyla, anthropology for the community in post-modern society]. He also earned a Diploma in Classical Humanities, at Centro de Humanidades y Ciencias of Salamanca, Spain.
He has had different roles within the Legion of Christ and the Regnum Christi. He was Prefect of Studies at the Centro Vocacional Legionarios de Cristo, in Ontaneda Spain from 1979 to 1983; Vice-Rector of the Centro Vocacional de los Legionarios de Cristo in Moncada, Valencia from 1988 to 1989; member of the Legion’s Doctrinal Committee of the Mexican Territory from 1991 to 2007; he is member of the Permanent Studies and Training Commission of the Legionaries of Christ since 2014; he was Assistant to the Prefecture of Studies of the Mexican Territory from 1992 to 2009; Director of the Regnum Christi’s adult sections at the south of Mexico City from 1990 to 2004; and Director of the lady’s section from 2004 to 2007 at the west side of Mexico City.
Likewise, F. Cipriano Sánchez has a deep knowledge on the family topic, which has taken him to assume a number of responsibilities. Since 2006, he has been Director of the CENYELIZTLI, A.C., Unidos por la Familia Foundation, which works on the promotion of the family with social responsibility orientation.
In 2009, he took part in the organization of the World Meeting of Families in Mexico City, and from 2004 to 2013 he broadcast the weekly radio program Hombre nuevo edificando la familia, at 1030 AM, of Grupo Radio Centro. In addition, he has collaborated in religious and values topics in different TV programs of Televisión Azteca since 1999.
On the other hand, F. Cipriano Sánchez has published different materials including books and audios on spirituality, such as “La verdad os hará libres”, “Caminos de Cuaresma”, “Caminos de Adviento”, “Camino de Damasco”, on the occasion of the Year of Saint Paul; “Certezas para esperar”, about Benedict XVI’s Encyclical Spe Salvi. On marriage topics, he published the two-volume “La historia es de dos”; the pre-marriage handbook “Edificar el futuro”; and the family pastoral handbook, the latter two at the PPC publishing house.

He speaks French, Italian, English, Latin, and has knowledge of Biblical Greek and Portuguese.
He worked as Academic Vice-Rector at Universidad Anáhuac from December 8th, 2014 to October 31st, 2015. In this role, he took part in the events celebrating the 50th Anniversary, graduation ceremonies, different institutional medal awarding ceremonies, signature of agreements, and represented our Institution before the Anáhuac Universities Network. He is Rector of the Universidad Anáhuac México Norte from November 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2016, and is Rector of the Universidad Anáhuac México, campus north and south since July 1st, 2016.
