The 3rd Webinar of Querida Amazonía

The Querida Amazonía group reaffirms its commitment to continue generating spaces for dialogue and reflection around the call of Pope Francis to take care of our common home.

Last Wednesday, May 24, the Querida Amazonia group held its third Webinar entitled: "Ten years after walking with Pope Francis: keys to reading a pontificate at the borders." This virtual event brought together a broad audience interested in reflecting on the first 10 years of Pope Francis' pontificate.

After the inauguration by Fr. Cipriano Sánchez, L.C., rector of our Universidad Anahuac México, the event began with a keynote address by Dr. Rafael Luciani, a Venezuelan theologian from Boston College who shared about the synodal journey to which the Pope has invited us since 2021.

During the second part, the webinar included the participation of internationally renowned expert panelists who shared their experiences and knowledge about the career and teachings of Pope Francis, such as Dr. Rocco Buttiglione, Dr. Massimo Borghesi and Dr. Carlos Galli who shared the understanding and reception of the teaching of Pope Francis in the social, political and academic fields under the moderation of Mtro. Germán Araujo, member of the Querida Amazonía group.

The third part consisted of a panel where four members of the group Querida Amazonía reflected together on the echoes and resonances of Francis' pontificate. This panel, moderated by Mtra. Ma. Eugenia Guzmán, professor at the Faculty of Humanities, Philosophy and Letters and the speakers, Mtra. Marcela Chapa, director of the School of International Relations of the Anahuac Querétaro University, Mr. Jovani Fernández from the Faculty of Humanities, Philosophy and Letters of Anahuac Mexico, Dr. Mónica Chávez, professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana and Fr. Salvador Arellano, L.C. and chaplain of the Anahuac Querétaro University, allowed us to share personal impressions about the traces and teachings that the Holy Father's message has left in each one both personally and professionally.

Finally, the closing conference was given by Dr. Rodrigo Guerra, secretary of the Pontifical Academy for Life, who reflected on the mystery of the incarnation and the Guadalupano phenomenon as central to assuming the Christian path and being a Church, People of God.

With the success of this third Webinar, the Querida Amazonia group reaffirms its commitment to continue generating spaces for dialogue and reflection around the call of Pope Francis to take care of our common home, go out to the borders and build fraternity.
