Anáhuac University Mexico and the UAEH promote bioethics and health sciences

Both institutions formalized their relationship by signing a letter of intent that opens a new stage of joint research, academic training, and project development for the benefit of society.

On September 3, 2025, the letter of intent was signed between the School of Bioethics of the Universidad Anáhuac México and the School of Health Sciences of the Institute of Health Sciences (ICSA) of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH).

The event was presided over by Dr. José Alberto Castilla, director of the School of Bioethics at Anáhuac University; Dr. Abel Lerma Talamantes, academic coordinator of Psychology at ICSA; and Dr. María del Refugio Acuña Gurrola, president of the Institute.

This agreement represents not only the formalization of an institutional relationship, but also the beginning of a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening the ties between bioethics and health sciences. Its objective is clear: to generate academic synergies that contribute to the training of more knowledgeable professionals, as well as the promotion of important scientific research.

As the first project stemming from this collaboration, a qualitative study was conducted on fertility awareness among university students. During the day of activities, more than 400 surveys were administered to UAEH students, a figure that was later replicated with the same number at Universidad Anáhuac México North Campus. This joint effort, in addition to generating valuable information for the study of reproductive health, also demonstrated the commitment of both institutions to scientific research and to addressing issues of great relevance to Mexican youth.

Regarding this event, Dr. Castilla emphasized that it represents a turning point in the relationship between the two universities, as it will allow for the organization of high-impact research projects, seminars, conferences, and academic programs. For their part, the UAEH representatives agreed that the collaboration opens a space for shared learning in which ethics, science, and education converge to respond to current social needs.

With this alliance, both Anáhuac University Mexico and the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo reaffirm their humanistic and service-oriented vocation, promoting initiatives that foster interdisciplinary dialogue and train healthcare professionals with a comprehensive approach in which bioethics plays a central role. Without a doubt, this agreement marks the beginning of a promising path that will yield academic, scientific, and social benefits for both university communities.
