PROFESSOR FROM THE SCHOOL OF BIOETHICS: PARTICIPATES IN THE SEMMINAR “+CIENCIA” (SCIENCE)

"Bioethical Implications of Transhumanism

On this occasion, Dr. María Elizabeth De Los Ríos reflected on the ethical consequences of incorporating technology into human life.

Dr. María Elizabeth de los Rios Uriarte, research professor at our Faculty of Bioethics, gave the presentation "Bioethical Implications of Transhumanism" at the academic conferences organized by the scientific committee of the +Ciencia of the Faculty of Engineering.

The academic reflected on the ethical consequences of incorporating technology into human life and how this leads us to the tireless search for standards of improvement that will never be total.

In the same way, he shared that transhumanism could present a danger to the human being by putting it at the service of that and even wanting to dilute the essence that characterizes it to replace it with another that they propose: the posthumans.
