The eighth class of the Master in Global Bioethics graduates

The eighth class of the Master in Global Bioethics graduates

Our graduates received a message from their teachers and administrators, who invited them to assume their mission as ambassadors of human dignity.

On September 9, 2025, the School of Bioethics at Anáhuac University of Mexico held a virtual closing ceremony for the eighth class of the online Master in Global Bioethics, an academic program that has trained professionals over two and a half years of study and has established itself as a space for reflection, interdisciplinary dialogue, and commitment to the dignity of the human person at the international level.

The celebration brought together students from four countries who, with perseverance and dedication, completed a training program that prepares them to face contemporary challenges in the field of bioethics. The cultural diversity of this cohort reflects the universal vocation of the program, which seeks to respond to global needs regarding the care of life and the defense of fundamental human values.

The event was attended by Dr. José Alberto Castilla, director of the School of Bioethics, as well as distinguished guest professors such as Dr. Marta Tarasco and Dr. Paul Lee. During the ceremony, each shared words that touched the graduates with a profound and deeply human message.

Dr. Marta Tarasco congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue their mission in bioethics, reminding them that today is not the end, but the true beginning of their mission. She called on them to defend the dignity of every person, from conception to natural death, under any circumstance. “Bioethics is not limited to the application of principles, but must be grounded in an anthropological vision where respect for human dignity is the highest value,” she asserted.

Dr. Paul Lee urged them to be guides and role models in their contexts, stating that "graduation is an important achievement, but it's just the beginning of the journey. The real challenge begins now, as we go out into the world as lights that illuminate the field of bioethics with hope and truth."

Representing the graduating class, student José Alberto Ortega offered heartfelt thanks to their professors, classmates, and families. He emphasized that the education they received at Anáhuac University grants them, in addition to knowledge, the mission of being ambassadors of human dignity, safeguarding life at all stages, promoting dialogue between disciplines, and putting knowledge at the service of the common good. He added: "We assume this task with humility, recognizing that we have been trained by others to be a light for the future."

At the close of the ceremony, Dr. José Alberto Castilla invited the graduates to remain committed to the School of Bioethics, reminding them that their time at Anáhuac does not end with the completion of their degree, but rather extends into their commitment to the values and principles that guide the institution. He also emphasized that each graduate, in their own professional and cultural environment, represents a living testament to the university's mission to serve the individual and society.

With this closing ceremony, the eighth generation of the Master in Global Bioethics begins a new professional journey, equipped with solid academic tools and an ethical education focused on human dignity. We at the university are confident that each of its graduates will be instrumental in building a more humane, just, and supportive future.
