Patricio Santillán Doherty gives the Inaugural Lecture of the School of Bioethics

Inaugural Lecture

The National Bioethics Commissioner encouraged reflection and ethical research, highlighting the importance of the veracity of the information and adequate recognition of its authors.

 

On September 27, 2023, the Inaugural Lecture of the School of Bioethics was held in the Auditorium of the Center for Postgraduate Studies of the North Campus of the Universidad Anáhuac México, given by Patricio Santillán Doherty, who stands out for his trajectory in the area of ​​thoracic and pleuropulmonary surgery, as well as for his experimental research in surgery and lung transplantation.

 

Regarding his experience in the field of Bioethics, he has been a member of the Research Ethics Committee, serving as its secretary and president since February 1, 2022, in addition to serving as National Bioethics Commissioner.

 

During his presentation, he addressed the topic “Importance of integrity within the scientific model of medicine”, where he focused on the bioethics of research in the area of ​​health sciences. He emphasized the importance of integrity in research models, exemplifying the negative impact of falsification and incorrect use of data, as well as the consequences of inappropriate use of information.

 

Patricio Santillán's presentation was an invitation to reflection and ethical research, valuing the veracity of the information and granting the relevant merit to its authors.
