Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos coordinated this interdisciplinary work that promotes peace through a critical reading of contemporary social reality.
Anáhuac University Mexico is proud to announce the publication of the book Towards Building Bridges for Peace: Reading and Making Sense of Reality from the Teachings of Pope Francis, coordinated by Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos Uriarte, professor and researcher at the School of Bioethics.
This work, published in co-edition with Editorial Sindéresis, proposes a profound reflection on the role of Pope Francis as an active witness of peace, approaching his teachings from an ethical and social perspective with the aim of transforming thought into concrete actions that promote dialogue, reconciliation and justice in a world marked by fragmentation and violence.
The book includes contributions from leading scholars in disciplines such as ethics, philosophy, sociology, politics, and theology, such as: Agustín Ortega, Arturo Mota, Allan Christian Covarrubias, Rubén García, Jovani Fernández, Alejandro Sánchez, Lourdes Cabrera, David Cerdio, María Eugenia Guzmán, Eduardo Casillas, Óscar Perdiz, Eduardo Urdiales, and Ricardo Rivas.
They are all part of the research and reflection group Querida Amazonía, founded in 2020, which meets monthly to discuss the current application of Pope Francis's thinking.
The publication is available in digital format and open access through the institutional repository of Universidad Anáhuac México. For more information or to view the full book, visit: accesoabierto.anahuac.mx
