PROA Medical Group and Anáhuac University Mexico strengthen their ethical commitment to the health sector

Grupo Médico PROA y la Universidad Anáhuac México

During an institutional visit to the North Campus, PROA executives and university authorities agreed to promote formal training for medical personnel in applied ethics, strengthening a person-centered care model based on scientific, humanistic, and moral principles.

As part of its commitment to providing comprehensive, person-centered healthcare, the PROA Medical Group made an institutional visit to the Universidad Anáhuac México Campus Norte on May 15, 2025, with the aim of establishing a strategic alliance with the Schools of Bioethics and Health Sciences to promote specialized training, consolidating a healthcare model based on ethical, scientific, and humanistic principles.

During the day, an in-depth dialogue took place between PROA Group executives and academic authorities in which the relevance of integrating bioethics as a cross-cutting axis in clinical, business and organizational decision-making was highlighted. As a result of this meeting, it was agreed to promote the formal training of PROA staff through academic programs that allow them to develop a critical and applied understanding of the main contemporary ethical dilemmas in the field of health.

This alliance reflects the PROA Medical Group's vision of establishing itself as a bioethically committed company capable of offering medical care that respects human dignity in all its dimensions. In this regard, the need to restore a humanistic approach to clinical practice that recognizes the patient as a whole person, not simply a carrier of disease or a medical record number, was emphasized.

One of the central themes of the meeting was ethics in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, emphasizing the need to ensure their validity, not only scientifically but also morally. Special emphasis was also placed on two fundamental pillars of contemporary bioethical practice: respect for informed consent and the protection of personal data. Both aspects are essential to avoid the depersonalization of the patient and ensure truly humane care.

As part of the activities, both schools presented their academic offerings, programs designed to train professionals capable of applying the principles of bioethics in clinical, institutional, research, and public policy development contexts.

The visit concluded with a joint commitment to promote a person-centered healthcare model that integrates medical excellence with solid ethical training. This collaboration represents a significant step in the transformation of the healthcare sector in Mexico, where respect, human dignity, and ethical values must guide every level of medical care and management.
