The School of Bioethics welcomed 11 national and international students who are embarking on a path of academic excellence and ethical commitment to contemporary challenges.
The School of Bioethics at Anáhuac University Mexico welcomed the 16th generation of the Doctorate in Bioethics, comprised of 11 students who embarked on a path of academic and professional excellence.
This year, the new cohort is distinguished by its international character, with nearly 50 percent of the students coming from Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Colombia, reinforcing the School of Bioethics' commitment to a diversity of perspectives and global dialogue around bioethics.
After a rigorous admissions process, which validated each applicant's academic background, accreditation of master's degrees, and the relevance of their professional career, the candidates' ability to identify a current bioethics-related issue was assessed. This will be the basis for developing their projects throughout the program.
It's worth mentioning that the PhD in Bioethics is characterized by being an applied program, in which students participate in activities with a high academic impact. These activities include the publication of at least one scientific article in the journal Medicina y Ética, the School's academic journal, as well as attendance at the Intensive Week, an annual meeting that brings together national and international experts for interdisciplinary dialogue.
Furthermore, student research protocols are rigorously evaluated by the University's Research Ethics Committee, thus ensuring high academic and ethical standards.
Beyond the academic demands, this program fosters a "doctoral commitment" in each student, which represents a personal and professional commitment to transforming their way of reflecting, reasoning, and discussing current bioethical challenges.
The ultimate goal is for graduates not only to complete solid research projects, but also to develop a renewed way of thinking, capable of responding critically and responsibly to the demands of a constantly changing world.
With the admission of this new generation, the School of Bioethics reaffirms its mission to be an international benchmark in the training of specialists who contribute ethical and humanistic solutions to contemporary challenges.
