Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos presents the topic "Bioethics and Artificial Intelligence"

On February 19, 2025, Dr. María Elizabeth de los Ríos led an outstanding session titled "Bioethics and Artificial Intelligence", where she addressed the challenges and opportunities presented by the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the health sciences from a bioethical perspective.

Dr. Antonio Cabrera participates in the 1st Perinatal Bioethics Congress

On March 18, Dr. Antonio Cabrera Cabrera, director of the Anáhuac Center for Strategic Bioethics Development (CADEBI), participated in the First Perinatal Bioethics Congress at Anáhuac University Mexico, presenting a paper entitled "Bioethical Considerations of Infertility." Dr. Cabrera delved into this complex topic, emphasizing the importance of social and personal attitudes toward infertility, as well as the need to make informed decisions.

"Global Bioethics and its Impact in the 21st Century" analyzes the ethical challenges in the era of globalization

Editorial Tirant Lo Blanch has recently published the book "Global Bioethics and Its Impact in the 21st Century", a work coordinated by renowned specialists in the field of bioethics: Dr. Jesús Armando Martínez Gómez, Coordinator of the Dr. Héctor Fix Zamudio Center for Legal and Criminological Research at the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Querétaro, and Dr. Antonio Cabrera Cabrera, Director of the Anáhuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics (CADEBI) at the Anáhuac University Mexico.

Microbiota and Chronic Pain: What Challenges Arise in Multidisciplinary Care?

On March 13, 2025, Dr. Alfredo Covarrubias was the guest speaker at our monthly session for march. He addressed a significant and novel topic: the impact of the microbiota on chronic pain. Dr. Covarrubias presented scientifically supported findings on the key relationship between intestinal balance and pain mechanisms, opening new perspectives for the comprehensive care of patients.

Journal Club: Small Patients, Big Dilemmas: A Critical Review of the TERIKIDS Study

In our second edition of the BINCA Journal Club of the year, Dr. Rodrigo Martínez Espinosa, Sanofi LATAM Medical Manager and professor at La Salle University, led an enriching session focused on the clinical study "Safety and efficacy of teriflunomide in pediatric multiple sclerosis (TERIKIDS)", published in The Lancet Neurology.

Food for the Brain: Caring with Ethics, A Talk by Dr. Ríos on Uro-Oncological Practice

We had the privilege of having Dr. Víctor Manuel Ríos Dávila, Urologic Oncologist, participate in an enriching presentation on uro-oncological medical practice from a bioethical perspective, as part of the monthly Food for the Brain sessions, organized by the Anáhuac Clinical Bioethics and Neuroethics group (BINCA).

Fr. Alberto Carrara leads the first Vatican Longevity Summit

On March 25, the Vatican witnessed a historic event that brought together some of the world's brightest minds at the first-ever Vatican Longevity Summit, a scientific summit dedicated to the challenges of aging and longevity. This event, which was held at the Centro Congressi Augustinianum, marked a milestone in regenerative medicine, brain health, fertility and longevity ethics, addressing key issues such as health justice and equity and the democratization of scientific results.

Fr. Rubén Revello at the 30th General Assembly of the PAV: "The end of the world? Crisis, responsibility and hope”

Father Rubén Revello, member of the Institute of Bioethics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (UCA) and advisor to CADEBI, actively participated in the 30th General Assembly of the Pontifical Academy for Life (PAV), held at the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome from March 3 to 5, under the title: "The End of the World? Crisis, Responsibility, and Hope.”

Dr. Gerardo Perazzo leads the premiere of the Fourth Cycle of "Meeting Point: Bioethics for All”

Under the direction of Dr. Gerardo Perazzo, Coordinator of the UCA Bioethics Institute and advisor to CADEBI, the fourth season of "Punto de Encuentro: Bioética para todos" (Meeting Point: Bioethics for All), the UCA Bioethics Institute's radio program, premiered. Prominent researchers and professors of Biomedical Ethics and the Medical School participated.

Dr. Martha Tarasco participated in the 1st Congress on Perinatal Bioethics with "Philosophical Positions in Bioethics."

Dr. Martha Tarasco Michel, who participates as an advisor at the Anáhuac Center for Strategic Development in Bioethics and Research (CADEBI), gave the important conference: Philosophical Positions in Bioethics, within the framework of the 1st Congress of Perinatal Bioethics, organized by the School of Bioethics of the Anáhuac University of Mexico.

Dr. Jennifer Hincapié participated in the International Congress on Advance Directives 2025

Dr. Jennifer Hincapié Sánchez, director of the University Bioethics Program at UNAM and advisor to CADEBI, participated in the "2025 International Congress on Advance Directives" with the presentation "Advance Directives in Childhood, an Issue for Bioethics." This academic event was organized by the Mexico City Ministry of Health from March 25 to 27.
