Medical Interns from CADEBI Participate in Medical Brigade for Migrants

Medical Brigade for Migrants

For four days, medical interns from CADEBI provided medical, dental, and psychological consultations to individuals taking refuge at CAFEMIN.

In response to the current migration crisis, a medical brigade organized by CADENA, a non-profit humanitarian organization, and Start Network, provided medical, dental, and psychological care on January 25th, 27th, 29th, and 31st at CAFEMIN. This shelter and human rights organization welcomes migrant women, families, refugees, and/or asylum seekers for short, medium, and long stays.

The brigade delivered comprehensive care and vocational training, conducting over 200 medical consultations addressing issues related to stress and precarious health conditions for this population.

It is crucial to recognize the importance and necessity of supporting families passing through our country, especially those who have traveled in precarious conditions, often displaced by conflicts, persecutions, or in search of better opportunities.

They face various challenges and adversities jeopardizing their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Therefore, this attention provides the necessary care for treating diseases or injuries they may have suffered during their journey, ensuring their dignity and fundamental right to health.

It is noteworthy that support is also offered to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, and protection, providing a space of welcome and solidarity in an often unfamiliar and hostile environment.

At CADEBI, we acknowledge that as a society, we must take responsibility for extending a helping hand to these families, offering them the comprehensive support needed to rebuild their lives, guaranteeing a dignified and humane transition towards a more promising future.
