Anahuac University in Mexico City was recognized with the 2020 Incluye Award in the category of Educational Inclusion of People with Disabilities by the business association Movimiento Congruencia.
Our Institution was awarded for the constant development of policies, culture and practices to build a more inclusive community. Some examples are:

  • Accessibility in its media
  • Teacher training
  • Attention to students with disabilities
  • Community awareness about disability and inclusion

The Incluye Awards acknowledge and disseminate the practices of any company, association or educational institution that has taken any action, program or process to generate a cultural change and facilitate the inclusion of people with disabilities in a scheme of equal opportunities within three categories:

  • Labor Inclusion of People with Disabilities: Acknowledgment of companies that have a culture and commitment to labor inclusion of people with disabilities, reflected in environments, processes, policies, and good practices related to inclusion in the work environment.
  • Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities: Acknowledgment of civil society organizations that offer services and solutions to promote and enable full participation of people with disabilities in social activities.
  • Educational Inclusion of People with Disabilities: Acknowledgment of educational institutions that offer an inclusive teaching-learning system for people with disabilities, with environments, tools, and processes that ensure learning for all.

The 2020 Incluye Award in Educational Inclusion of People with Disabilities at our University is a reflection of our work in terms of equality and same rights for everyone.  


Anahuac University in Mexico City is a university community that contributes and encourages the integral formation process of people who, for their excellent and innovative professional and cultural education of international level; for their profound human and moral instruction -inspired by the perennial values of Christian humanism such as the dignity of the human person, the inclusion of people with disabilities, and universality; and for their real social awareness, will becomes positive action leaders, and will promote the development of the human being and of society.

Since 2017, Anahuac University has had the Accessibility Committee for People with Disabilities. Its purpose is to develop and coordinate policies, practices, and a culture that ensures the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the university community in its various lines of action:

  • Inclusion of students with disabilities (enrollment, permanence, participation, and graduation)
  • Inclusion of employees with disabilities
  • Information and communication accessibility
  • Infrastructure accessibility
  • Awareness about the inclusion of people with disabilities
  • Training for the inclusion of people with disabilities

Coordination for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities

As a socially responsible institution, Anahuac University in Mexico City promotes this coordination in accordance with its mission and values, aware that the transformation and development of our society is everyone's responsibility, especially of higher education institutions.

The functions of this coordination include:

  • Build an inclusive university community
  • Certificate Diploma in Development of Social and Vocational Skills (aimed at young people with disabilities)
  • Disability care area
  • Accessibility committee for people with disabilities
  • Build an inclusive society
  • Specialty in Educational Inclusion
  • Certificate Diploma in Inclusive Education and Disability
  • Higher Education Institution Network for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities Mexico (Rides-Mx by its acronym in Spanish)

Movimiento Congruencia is a non-profit business association established in 2004. Along with education institutions and social organizations, its purpose is to provide a solution to the socio-labor problems faced by people with disabilities. In Mexico, they are the national representatives of the ILO Global Business and Disability Network.
