Physicians as Citizens of the World (CAPÍTULO)

Abstract
The movement of medical professionalism is closely connected to the movement of bioethics. Both movements can be regarded as efforts to enhance the ethical responsibilities of healthcare professionals. What they have in common is that they emerged in local healthcare systems and social circumstances but nowadays are determined by the global context. This requires a new conceptualization of the role of physicians.
