Reports to: Connected Demand Planning 
Lead or Connect Planning Lead 
(BU dependent)


Pivotal to our ability to deliver on our commitments, you’ll be responsible for accurate demand forecasting. From setting up New Products forecast algorithms, to ensuring the proper forecast models are being used, the Statistical Demand Planner will be an expert in statistical modeling, using E2E planning tools, and collaborating closely with the demand planning teams to ensure the Forecasting output to the commercial business will provide a best in class baseline forecasts. You’ll have the tools to gain insights from the commercial market – such as consumption sales at our retailers, promotional activity, and historic trends that will aid in understanding the impact on demand. You’ll have the autonomy to challenge when necessary. Critically, you’ll provide clear communication between our demand planning teams, sales, as well as supply and manufacturing teams. 

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Receive requirements for setting up and maintaining product sku’s within the forecasting tool
  • Prepare statistical forecasts across the assigned portfolio’s in an effort to help maintain a strong baseline forecast
  • Use internal and external intelligence that will help make a prediction of demand for a tactical (1-6 months) and strategic forecast (7-24 rolling months)
  • Establish a weekly process of using exception-based planning reports to adjust forecasts as necessary, holding to the thresholds of RB’s Key Performance Indicators
  • Hold bi-weekly consensus meetings with respective Demand Planner/Jr Demand Planner to address any changes to the statistical models
  • Use the analytical, marketing, and sales data of an item/customer/brand to effectively estimate future product demands
  • Generate forecast solutions for busines partners and help train Demand Planning end users on the system and logic
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance

    Professional Qualifications/Experience
  • College Degree in related field
  • Deep understanding of statistical algorithms
  • Well versed in forecasting systems ( SAP, JDA, Excel, etc)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role

Planning Lead

This is achieved through development and deployment of efficient tools and processes, clear and transparent communication, and cross functional collaboration and alignment with our Compass at the heart of everything we do.
    The Connected Planner is a smart, analytical, driven and knowledgeable and passionate supply chain professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain Area/Global exposure to multiple stake holders across the Reckitt business.
    As the roles and responsibilities of the position will evolve as industry trends evolve, the individual will be expected to show an interest and keep up to date with disruptive concepts and work closely with Centre of Excellence Teams and identify opportunities to leverage and incorporate these concepts in the Reckitt business. Keep in mind that while Connected Planning Lead is leading the function, the Connected Planner is the face of the Connected Planning Team on the ground.
    Your interpersonal skills will be as critical as your technical skills in this role as you collaborate across markets, factories, copackers etc. Key that you will be interacting with both Multi-functional teams both in and outside of RB as we relentlessly pursue our Purpose and Fight.

    Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Full ownership of the supply plan for the category, including internal and external manufacturing
  • Works with Site Planning Leads globally to ensure continuity of supply and maximize service to market
  • Direct management and personal development responsibilities of site planning leads
  • Chair supply review for their respective category
  • Works with IMEX Demand Planners to ensure that there is right forecast enrichment done which reflects the latest Demand.
  • Provides governance around demand & supply balancing with a holistic, un-biased viewpoint managing all stake holders.
  • Leads and streamlines the communication between markets and sites. Becomes the voice of the Region as Connected Planner.
  • Proactive management of service to the markets and management of the mid-term horizon. Always actions on the Distress skus making sure that they don’t do in the OOS zone.
  • Produces stock tunnel report for markets & sites. Ensure the best visibility of service level projections for markets
  • Setting up inventory targets and managing their execution. Coordinate input from the markets & factory and ensure the agreed targets are adhered to by the business 
  • Scenario planning: Conduct ad-hoc cost/ benefit analysis on various options to balance supply and demand, to be presented to category / regional leadership and in various forums. Scenario planning is not exclusive to the Connected Planner and will be available across Planning
  • Negotiate targets (provided by Inv. Optimizers) with input from the Markets & ensure the agreed targets are adhered to by the business
  • Track the KPIs and lead the discussions between factories and countries to over-deliver the targets.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Demand Planning teams to optimize the end-to-end supply chain in terms of cost, efficiency, go-to-market lead time reduction.
  • Monitor and consolidate Obsoletes/Provisioned items across markets to align clearance strategies with Obsoletes Hub and assure full clearance.
  • Coordinate and chair Service calls

    Professional Qualifications/Experience
  • Solid knowledge of Supply systems / tools and E2E Knowledge (connecting Demand, Supply and S&OP)
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability; analyze complex data, identify issues, explain variances and recommend solutions
  • Strong ability to build Relationships with enhanced ability to manage these relationships with good communication ability. This is needed to effectively manage stake holders across functions, regions.
  • Ability to challenge constructively and confidently while making sure that all stake holders are heard.
  • Strong ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers
  • Good knowledge of SAP & JDE ERP systems.
  • Good knowledge on Stat Forecasting, Forecasting Enrichment and understanding the issues on Forecasting.
  • Strong presentation, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Fluent spoken & written English
  • 4-5 years demand/supply planning experience.
