The Anáhuac University Network is proud to congratulate Anáhuac University of Oaxaca, whose team will represent Mexico in the global final of the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025, one of the most important university competitions worldwide in the field of information technology.
From May 20 to 24 in Shenzhen, China, the team made up of Estefanía Vasconcelos Pérez, Luis Daniel Acevedo Herrera and Alejandro Cinco Prieto , students of Information Technology Engineering and Digital Business, will compete in the network category against 95 of the best teams in the world, from 46 countries and the most prestigious universities on the planet .
This achievement positions Anáhuac Oaxaca as the first Mexican university to qualify for two consecutive global finals of this international competition, excelling in the national and regional phases, where it faced institutions such as UNAM, IPN, UAM, and public and private universities from more than eight Latin American countries.
Under the mentorship of Professor Josué Aguilar , the team demonstrated outstanding proficiency in key areas such as networking, programming, cybersecurity, and strategic problem-solving. Now, they will receive specialized training from Huawei Mexico before their participation in the final, where they will seek to overcome the current Latin American champion, Brazil.
In this edition, the Huawei ICT Competition reached historic figures with the participation of more than 960,000 students from 2,000 universities in more than 100 countries , consolidating itself as a global platform for promoting young talent, recognized by UNESCO as a benchmark in the development of technological skills.
This event represents not only an academic triumph, but also a clear demonstration of our Network's commitment to educational excellence, innovation, and the development of leaders with an international vision.
Twenty-five years after its founding, Anáhuac Oaxaca reaffirms its regional leadership and its commitment to preparing the engineers of the future with cutting-edge, ethical education geared toward positive environmental transformation.
