STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Competence 1. Integrate knowledge to select and use techniques, methods, tools and technologies applicable to your profession
This competence involves the application of knowledge to management of media and resources specific to each profession that, applied in a logical and orderly manner, allow the modification of the material, conceptual or virtual environment to satisfy needs.
It challenges students to appropriately select and utilize resources (procedures, methods, techniques, tools, rules, standards or protocols, machinery, and technology) and define the path to follow, with the goal of achieving a specific result in a specific context. It also includes the selection and management of resources that facilitate task completion. This competency requires planning and organization, reflective thinking, and adaptation to the environment.
Competence 2. Investigate phenomena in their professional field and sociocultural context
Research involves analyzing the phenomena specific to each discipline and the sociocultural environment, whether through the scientific method or the application of techniques specific to one's profession.
The student's need to analyze phenomena and carry out research involves the path of discovery, inquiry, reflection, action and criticism, aims to extend and develop knowledge on a topic, deepen and specify theses about a scientific argument, interrelate and synthesize the meaning and sense of phenomena (natural or social) by integrating existing theories, to establish principles, find the most important factors that affect or shape them, investigate possible applications or solutions, and enrich the profession through the knowledge acquired.
Competence 3. Prevents and solves problems by applying knowledge and skills
Problems are situations that require a solution through the use of a particular strategy and a creative course of action, necessary to achieve a goal or anticipate it in a timely manner. Solving a problem involves performing tasks that require more or less complex reasoning processes, not simply associative and routine activity. It involves recognizing the factors involved in a problem and, based on the formulation and analysis of alternatives, selecting or devising a reasoned solution based on specific criteria.
The relevance of the competence of problem solving It focuses on enhancing students' skills and abilities to understand and apply the knowledge they've acquired and fostering a high level of intellectual autonomy that allows them to continue their education. It also contributes to the development of other basic competencies such as teamwork, creativity, analysis, and leadership.
Competence 4. Collaborate in work teams and projects in their professional field with an interdisciplinary vision
The collaboration in work teams and projects It involves understanding how professionals in a discipline jointly use their knowledge and skills in real-life situations to achieve a common goal. Teamwork involves the harmonious integration of functions and activities carried out by different people with a systemic, joint, and shared vision, and is based on complementarity, coordination, adaptation, communication, trust, and shared commitment. It involves the ability to focus on objectives and motivate other team members to carry out planned activities, encourage their participation, actively listen to others, and value their ideas and experiences.
Teamwork is fundamental in professional projects, as the essence of a team demonstrates that the combination of diverse individual talents leads to success, because true knowledge is shared with humility through the feedback that emerges from assertive dialogue and mutual admiration. It is essential that students develop their ability to work as a team in order to face interdisciplinary challenges and mobilize their resources to perform in different specific contexts and unstructured situations.
Competence 5. Create models, strategies, products or services with quality and an innovative spirit
This competence refers to the creative process Innovation is the process of obtaining original, satisfactory, and achievable results through the use and reorganization of information. It requires a focus on both the efficiency of the creative process and the quality of the outcome. It involves divergent thinking, the constant search for different and alternative interpretations of reality, the generation of ideas, expansion, flexibility of thought, autonomy, and imagination.
It plays an essential role in bridging the gap between academia and professional practice by encouraging students to reflect and engage in meaningful learning that enables them to perform with originality in any professional context and to bring to life what benefits them and society.
Competence 6. Undertakes, directs and/or manages projects, organizations and companies
It is a person's ability to make an extra effort to achieve a goal or objective and positively transform their environment. Entrepreneurship, in addition to being a skill, is an attitude and a disposition; it involves possessing the vision, capacity, and willingness to face challenges and develop new projects.
Entrepreneurship is an essential skill that will allow students to generate their own resources, be agents of change, and initiate projects, programs, and businesses. Our society requires leaders who are capable of generating new jobs, who are sensitive enough to identify areas of opportunity and needs to be addressed, taking advantage of the opportunities the environment offers them in line with their values and life plans, who can justify their ideas and know how to promote them in society.
