Anáhuac and the IPN promote innovation, education and social development
Senior officials from the two educational institutions formalized a strategic partnership focused on academic exchange, sports promotion and technological innovation project development.
The General Collaboration Agreement between the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) and Anáhuac Mexico University was signed on May 7, 2026, in the Ex-Directors' Hall of the IPN General Administration Building. The ceremony aimed to unite talent, knowledge and a sense of responsibility in the face of significant national challenges.
The presidium of this event was composed of prominent academic leaders, including Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval, Director General of the IPN; Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C., Rector of Anáhuac Mexico University; Dr. Nora Ricalde Alarcón, Director of the Anáhuac Center for Mexican Humanism; and Yessica Gasca Castillo, Secretary of Innovation and Social Integration at the IPN.
During the ceremony, institutional messages outlined the direction of the partnership, which will be structured around academic collaboration for student and faculty exchanges, the promotion of sports as a way to build resilience and teamwork and the advancement of impactful innovation. Regarding this last point, Anáhuac LABS will leverage the IPN’s technical and scientific potential to develop joint projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, electromobility and biotechnology, always in dialogue with the needs of industry and the public sector.
Dr. Arturo Reyes Sandoval emphasized in his remarks that this partnership will facilitate the efficient management of capacities in key sectors. It will shape the future of both institutions through dual-degree programs, social outreach, shared use of facilities and the active integration of the polytechnic community into the activities of the Anáhuac Center for Mexican Humanism.
In his remarks, he explained: “A fundamental aspect of this meeting is that we are opening the door to the formalization of the Specific Agreement on Student Mobility. This agreement will allow our young people to move between both institutions and enrich their education with diverse and complementary experiences that only this type of network can offer.”
In line with this vision, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C. emphasized that “Anáhuac Mexico University and the IPN share the conviction that education is not merely the transmission of knowledge, but a concrete way to transform reality. When two institutions with this conviction come together, collaboration—not competition—is the natural outcome; unity, not fragmentation.”
Thanks to this collaborative effort, the university ecosystem will generate solutions with a tangible impact. It will train professionals who can apply their knowledge to serve the common good and promote purpose-driven entrepreneurship, offering more opportunities for Mexicans.
The signing of this agreement reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to working toward a Mexico where innovation and higher education serve as bridges that strengthen the social fabric, demonstrating that the union of different academic traditions and sectors is the true force for transformation in the country.
