The EGEL Plus Register ranks 23 programs at Anáhuac Mexico among the highest in academic performance

The National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (Ceneval) accredited 37 programs at Anáhuac México. Twenty-three of these programs were recognized for their academic excellence among the academic programs of 60 universities in various states across the country.

On Monday, August 24, 2026, Anáhuac Mexico University hosted the ceremony for the presentation of the 2023-2025 EGEL Plus Register recognitions by the National Center for Higher Education Assessment (Ceneval), held at the Anáhuac Mexiquense Cultural Center on the North Campus.

Anáhuac Mexico University received accreditation for 37 academic programs, establishing itself as one of the private educational institutions with the highest number of programs at Level A in the country, with a total of 23 programs in the highest Ceneval category.

Of the 37 programs included in the register, 23 achieved Level A, 13 achieved Level B and one was classified as Level C; 24 of the programs were from the North Campus and 13 were from the South Campus.

What does the EGEL Plus Register mean for universities?

During his remarks, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C., the rector of Anáhuac Mexico University, emphasized that the EGEL Plus Register has established itself as “a rigorous benchmark for evaluating the quality of education provided by higher education institutions to those who graduate from our classrooms.”

Our rector noted that the register is the result of a rigorous, transparent and verifiable process. Its criteria show that its recognitions “are neither negotiated nor awarded based on the history, size or prestige of the institutions, but are earned exam by exam, generation by generation.”

He added that, behind every indicator, there is much more than just a result: there are men and women who have prepared themselves to pursue a profession, families who have supported their loved one’s life projects and academics who have challenged, guided and trusted their students while ensuring the quality of the educational processes.

“The EGEL Plus Register that we are honored to receive today at this institution is a testament to collective and sustained effort. It is a recognition not only of academic rigor, but also of close support,” he stated. He also emphasized that education is about more than conveying knowledge, it is about “training competent professionals, responsible individuals and citizens committed to the common good.”

Ceneval recognizes the performance of the institutions in the EGEL Plus Register

Dr. Carmen Enedina Rodríguez Armenta, general director of Ceneval, emphasized  the importance of the ceremony, noting that this is the first time in the organization's 32-year history that a recognition has been presented to the EGEL Plus Register.

She explained that this recognition means that more than 70% of the students in the recognized educational programs scored either “outstanding” or “satisfactory” on the exam. “That’s extremely high; it’s very impressive,” she said. This result indicates that the institutions are succeeding in transforming lives.

She also noted that this performance shows that universities are not only producing good professionals, but also “good citizens and good human beings.”

According to Dr. Rodríguez Armenta, of the more than 540 higher education institutions to which Ceneval provides assessment services, only 52 are included in the EGEL Plus Register. This represents 9% of the institutions that apply the exam, and among them is Anáhuac México.

Which Anáhuac México programs achieved Level A?

Level A applies to programs in which 90 % or more of their graduates achieve a satisfactory or outstanding overall performance rating and at least 20% achieve an outstanding overall performance rating.

The 23 programs accredited at Level A are:

North Campus: Law, Organizational and Educational Pedagogy, Civil Engineering, Dental Surgery, Nutrition, Industrial Engineering for Management, Chemical Engineering, Psychology, Strategic Marketing, International Business, Finance and Public Accounting, Medicine, Business Administration and Management, Economics, Graphic Design and Public Administration and Government.

South Campus: Law, Business Administration, Psychology, Mechatronics Engineering, Strategic Marketing, Medical Surgery and Tourism Management.

Academic excellence involves continuous improvement

Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García L.C. emphasized that recognition by the EGEL Plus Register also represents a responsibility for higher education institutions since quality cannot be based solely on self-assessment.

He stated that a good result does not end the conversation with “We’re the best, period,” but rather opens up another conversation: “We’re the best. How can we continue to serve Mexico through our universities with the highest quality?”

He noted that each recognition represents both joy and responsibility and should encourage institutions to ask themselves what they can improve, how they can better support their students, how they can update their programs and how they can respond more effectively to the country’s human, ethical and technical needs.

The presiding panel for this ceremony included Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García L.C., rector of Anáhuac University Mexico; Dr. Carmen Enedina Rodríguez Armenta, general director of the National Center for Higher Education Assessment (Ceneval); Dr. Ludivina Leija, president of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants; Clelia Hernández Orta, General Director of Expertus-SPIEE; Erick Germán Valles Vaca, Executive Director of Academic Innovation at the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES); as well as Dr. Alejandra Zúñiga Bohigas, Director of Ceneval’s General Bachelor’s Degree Graduation Exam; Dr. Lorena Rosalba Martínez Verduzco, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Anáhuac México; and Gabriela Martínez Morales, M.A., Rector of the Technological University of Mexico, who offered a few words on behalf of the universities that received recognition.

Special guests included Dr. Jesús Villagrasa Lasaga, L.C., who will take over as rector of Anáhuac Mexico University on September 1, as well as educational authorities, university leaders and representatives from the recognized institutions and university communities.

Recognition of graduates' achievements

The EGEL Plus Register recognizes bachelor’s degree programs whose graduates achieve outstanding results on graduation exams. It also helps identify the level of knowledge and skills developed during their professional training.

For Anáhuac Mexico University, the inclusion of 100% of evaluated programs in the register, as well as 23 programs achieving Level A is a testament to our institution’s commitment to providing students with a well-rounded, high-quality academic education that meets national standards, as well as to the ongoing improvement in the quality of its academic programs.
