Anáhuac participates in the 39th edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair

The flowers of Barcelona have gone, leaving us their words.

Anáhuac Mexico University participated in the 39th edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair with a program of 14 presentations of books jointly edited with prestigious publishers and bearing the university's seal; the 11th Research Colloquium: Research Seedbeds; the 11th edition of the International Forum on Editorial Design (FIDE), in collaboration with the International Book Fair (FIL); the “Collection Design” Panel; and the Science in Books Forum.

The rector of our university, Dr. Cipriano Sánchez García, L.C., inaugurated the Anáhuac Mexico University stand at Expo Guadalajara with an emotional message and cut the inaugural ribbon to kick off nine days of activities. He also presented his book Rumbo a la plenitud (Towards Fulfilment), whose message is that hope should be a transformative experience, not a passing emotion.

The FIL exceeded attendance expectations, welcoming 953,112 visitors, who participated in more than 3,000 activities in its general program and enjoyed the cultural offerings of Barcelona, the guest of honor.

There were 2,790 publishing houses from 64 countries, showcasing 450,000 titles. In total, more than 3,000 activities and 648 publishing presentations were held.

The 40th edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair will take place from November 28 to December 6, 2026, with Italy participating (for the second time) as the guest of honor. Next year will see the celebration of several anniversaries in addition to the 150th anniversary of Italian-Mexican relations: eight centuries since the birth of St. Francis of Assisi (patron saint of Italian literature), 200 years since the birth of Carlo Collodi (author of Pinocchio), 100 years since the birth of Dario Fo and 10 years since the death of Umberto Eco. “The world speaks to us like a great book” is the phrase—from William of Baskerville in The Name of the Rose—which will be the motto of the Italian delegation to the Fair.
