Bioethics as a means of solving and reflecting upon society issues

Artículos de difusiónThe ability of Bioethics is exclusively: In a world where most of the critical thinking and ideas are segmented in separate issues, bioethics comes to an interdisciplinary approach such as the ancient scholar did. A famous figure, such as Leonardo da Vinci can no longer exist in the area where a person needs to specialize in one subject in order to work in any institution. Bioethics is one of the few areas that has in its origin the idea of the science and the critical knowledge combined.

Therefore, Bioethics can be a means to provide critical reflection along with science to any issue that humanity is facing, e.g. Gender Inequality. Women today earn less and work harder than men: Women, normally, have to do the domestic work and provide the needs for the family. Although they face the majority of the domestic work, they suffer from violence daily. That is, not only at home from their partner, but also at the bus, the train, work, etc - where they are abused or disrespected just for using a certain piece of cloth, for example.

The Patriarchal Societies which are the norm of the world in which we live today, have a long history and implication to women and men. Why do men have to be the provider that never cries and women the housewife that is kind and passive? Some may argue that progressed, however we still have more men leading then women in any sector of the society. Therefore, both roles struggle to maintain this posture while the play never stops.

How can Bioethics solve this issue? Not only reflect upon the ethics and rights of each citizen, to provide a solidarity environment, but to prove how this affects the biological and structure of each person in our society. This issue is appelling as far as women are forced to genital mutilation, to forced marriage, underrepresetation as politicians and leaders – Bioethicist should provid more

equality due to the amount of harming that comes from it. Also with the medical paternalism, another issue in Bioethics that arrives from the Patriarchal Society.

Another fundamental issue is the Global Warming and all the disrespectfull treatment to our environment and animals. The Biodiversity must be respected as its not only the means to which the human being explores and creates its own materials and sources, but as irreplaceble species are being extinct.

Bioethicists along with scientists must study the implications of global warming, as this will be the cause for great loss of human beings, sea life, and biodiversity. Bioethics should also work along the UN, WHO, UNESCO and other ONGs to provide a better world. If there is no Humane approach to the advance and new issues to the society, the human race will continuously harm itself.
